Learn how to perform a Leg Extension exercise using a machine to isolate and strengthen your quadriceps muscle at the front of upper thigh with the team at Fitness Institute
Machine: Life Fitness Leg Extension
Start Position: Ankles (Figure 1) or Mid-Shin (Figure 2).
To begin, set appropriate weight, seat height and lever lengths – this will vary per person.
Choose your preferred start position (Figure 1 or 2). Sit down, place hands on handles and feet behind the pad.
Extend knees until legs are parallel to the ground (Figure 3 & 4). Slowly flex the knees to lower to the start position.
Remember to seek the advice of your fitness trainer, medical and/or allied health professionals, if you are new to exercise or have an injury or medical condition to consider.
