Ready to Rumble!

We are so excited to see our students moving towards their goals and we were very proud to be supporting Lachlan in his preparation for his bout at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.

Whilst former world champions Jeff Horn and Anthony Mundine were the main event at the River City Rumble, Lachlan came out a winner in his professional prime time debut against Jeff Horn’s brother Ben.

Our Q & A with Lachlan O’Shea:

Tell us about your boxing:

In my last two years of boxing, my record is 12 wins to 5 losses –

I’m a golden glove champion, Queensland State Title Champion and bronze medalist at the Australian titles.

My preparation and philosophy is fairly simple – train hard and learn to think smart in the ring…. we are coming to box not to brawl….

What was your motivation behind wanting to study the Cert III & IV in Fitness?

I’ve always had a bit of a passion for fitness, sports events and being active – other than boxing, I spend my spare time skateboarding and on a motorbike!

After getting back into boxing after my accident, I wanted more and more to become a Personal Trainer again.

I wanted to learn more about the body and about fitness. I have a great appreciation for body motor control love to see people pushing their body’s and minds to the limit. I also want to be healthy myself and help others to achieve good health and fitness. I aspire to be like those people who are generous with their time and knowledge and strive to help those in need.

It’s also great to learn new techniques for myself and be able to deliver these skills to clients.

The Certificate 3 in Fitness allows me to run group fitness classes and with my Certificate IV I’ll be able to own my own business and be my own Personal Trainer.

My aim is to also develop a good client base to start my own boxing training and Bootcamps.

What are your Future Goals?

Running a lot more youth classes. Lots of kids these days are just on their iPads so it would be good to get them out and about and help them build some self-confidence and lead an active lifestyle.
