Career Start – Government Funded Fitness Course in Queensland

Fitness Institute is a Pre-Qualified Supplier of the Queensland Government’s Career Start. The Career Start helps reduce the cost of enrolling in a course, such as the SIS30321 Certificate III in Fitness offered by Fitness Institute.

Entry requirements

General Training Pathway:

aged 15 years or older;
not be a school student;
permanently reside in Queensland; be an Australian citizen, or Australian permanent resident (includes humanitarian entrant), or a temporary resident with the right visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency, or a New Zealand citizen;
not already have a certificate III or higher qualification completed within the last 10 years (qualifications completed as a school student and foundation skills qualifications do not count);
not be enrolled in another qualification, even if it is on hold or deferred, whether funded by DTET or not (foundation skills qualifications do not count).

Fee Structure and Co-Contribution amounts

Students are required to pay $35 per unit of competency.
There are 15 units of competency in the SIS30321 Certificate III in Fitness.
14 units of competency = $490 (eg First Aid already completed)
15 units of competency = $525 (First Aid to complete).
The above is available on a payment plan of $100 upfront, followed by $50 per week.
Please note that Fitness Institute’ referral program is no applicable for any students on the “Career Start” program.

REFUNDS

The following overrides Fitness Institute’s standard refund policy for students commencing from 1 July 2025 onwards under the “Career Start” Program.

Full refunds for co-contribution fees where training has not commenced at the time of enrolment cancellation
proportionate refunds where student withdraws from select units of competency.
Refunds to employers/industry for any additional charges paid beyond the co-contribution fee and the Government subsidy.

STEP 1 – QLD residents contact Fitness Institute on 4771 2791 to check eligibility (as above)

STEP 2 – Once approved, those interested in the Online SIS30321 Certificate III in Fitness can choose from the following options:

STEP 3 – Create or confirm your USI and inform Fitness Institute in step 5.

STEP 4 – Register for Student Insurance with AusActive for FREE and notify Fitness Institute at careers@fitnessinstitute.com.au

STEP 5 – Online Enrolment Form and ID verification.

STEP 6 – Fitness Institute Careers Team will contact you to complete the enrolment process and sign the relevant contracts and Career Start Checklists.
