Boxing for Fitness offers an introductory boxing program tailored to acquaint you with the fundamentals of boxing and pad work techniques. HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO COMPLETE THE COURSE?
You’ll have a generous 5 months to complete the Boxing for Fitness Short Course.
HOW QUICKLY CAN I COMPLETE THE COURSE?
CAN I GET CONTINUAL EDUCATION CREDITS (CECS) WITH THIS COURSE?
Yes, upon completion, you can upload your certificate to AusActive for 8 CEC points.
This is Accredited through AUSactive.
IF I'M NOT EXPERIENCED IN BOXING, CAN I STILL JOIN THE COURSE?
This course is intended for students who have minimal to no boxing for fitness experience. Students with boxing for fitness or previous boxing experience may complete the course faster than those without experience.
DO I NEED A MENTOR?
Ideally students for this professional development course would already be established in a gym. You will need a boxing partner to work with while holding pads for boxing instruction.
DO I NEED TO COMPLETE THE COURSE IN SEQUENTIAL ORDER & WAIT FOR ASSESSMENTS TO BE MARKED BEFORE MOVING ON?
The course contains 10 sections for viewing instruction with multiple choice questions afterward.
Then there is a collection of videos that need to be completed once the learning has been completed.
Note: At any point you can look at the assessment and the course is not restricted.
You can progress to further sections once items are submitted for grading.
First aid certification (externally obtained) is required before training any clients.
DO I NEED A WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK (WWCC) TO COMPLETE THE COURSE?
This course is intended for 18+ clients and instructors. Please ask the careers team for advice if you are training clients younger than this, or if you are a student aged 16-17.

WHO ARE THE MAIN ONLINE PRESENTERS?
Your online course presenter is Monica Peirano.
Monica has a combined 15 years of experience in ballet, yoga and boxing having stepped into the ring several times as an amateur and remains undefeated. Monica is a qualified Personal Trainer and currently instructs Boxing for Fitness classes at First Base and Strand Fitness in Townsville.
Philip Sherriff is a Level 3 AusRep and Level 2 Professional with the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association. Phil demonstrates how to to utilise Boxing for Fitness in a Personal Training or Strength and Conditioning setting.
