Body Athletica and Fitness Institute Unite to Shape the Next Generation of Fitness Professionals

Australia – Wednesday 18th March 2026

Two respected leaders in fitness education, Body Athletica and Fitness Institute, have officially joined forces under the ownership of industry leader Julia Bauer, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the development of fitness professionals across Australia and internationally.

With a shared commitment to high-quality education, community and industry connection, the coming together of the two organisations will create expanded pathways for aspiring trainers, coaches and movement professionals looking to build long-term careers in the fitness industry.

Body Athletica has established a strong international reputation for delivering comprehensive Pilates education and instructor training, while Fitness Institute has long been recognised for its delivery of nationally accredited Certificate III and Certificate IV in Fitness programs that prepare students for careers as Personal Trainers.

Under Bauer’s leadership, the integration of the two organisations will allow both brands to build on their strengths while creating new opportunities for students, partners and the wider fitness industry.

Julia Bauer, Owner of Body Athletica and Fitness Institute, said the alignment of the two organisations represents an important step in strengthening education pathways for the next generation of fitness professionals. “Body Athletica and Fitness Institute share a deep belief in quality education, strong community and supporting people to build meaningful careers in the fitness industry,”
Bauer said.

“Bringing these two organisations together allows us to create clearer pathways for students — from foundational fitness qualifications through to specialised Pilates and movement education. Our goal is to develop confident, capable and industry-ready
professionals who can make a real difference in people’s lives.”

As part of the new direction, Fitness Institute is relaunching face-to-face training programs across Australia, providing students with practical, hands-on learning experiences delivered in real gym environments.

Shane Sullivan, General Manager of Body Athletica and Fitness Institute, said the combined expertise of the two organisations positions them strongly to support the evolving needs of the fitness industry.

“The industry is changing rapidly and education providers must evolve with it,” Sullivan said.

“By bringing together the strengths of Body Athletica and Fitness Institute we are creating a stronger ecosystem for learning, mentorship and career development. Our focus is on developing exceptional fitness professionals who are confident, capable and ready to
thrive in modern fitness environments.”

The partnership will also expand collaboration with gyms, studios and industry partners, creating new opportunities for mentorship, employment pathways and practical learning experiences for students.

With a renewed focus on innovation, community and industry engagement, Body Athletica and Fitness Institute are committed to playing a leading role in shaping the future of fitness education.
