Group exercise classes enjoy a high level of popularity worldwide as a means of improving fitness and increasing connections. Group fitness is social, fun, there’s lots of variety, incentive, motivation and training in a group helps people achieve more than they ever would training alone!

With Fitness Institute’s combination of industry recognised units, Instructors can learn how to design and develop their very own, unique group fitness and community programs and individualised exercise classes to suit a wide range of age groups and fitness levels!
Graduates not only obtain a set of very valuable fitness, recreation and leisure industry skills, they are also able to teach group fitness classes in community settings, recreation facilities, gyms, fitness centres and health clubs.
Completing this short course also qualifies instructors to deliver pre-choreographed and pre-designed programs plus freestyle and circuit-style classes.
Instructors who are registered with Fitness Australia can also earn 15 CEC’s (5 for each unit of competency)!
Fitness Institute’s GEI course brings together three complementary units of competency:
- SISFFIT007 – Instruct group exercise sessions
- SISFFIT011 – Instruct approved community fitness programs
- SISXCAI006 – Facilitate groups
